What is the Zero Emissions Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP)?
The Zero Emissions Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP), funded by Natural Resources Canada, aims to establish a nationwide network of Level 2 and DC fast chargers for electric vehicles. Canadian private and public sector organizations can receive up to 50% of the costs, with funding capped at $5,000 per Level 2 connector and $100,000 per DC fast charger. Indigenous businesses and communities are eligible for up to 75% of project costs, with higher funding caps per connector and charger.
Program Description
ZEVIP focuses on deploying EV chargers in public spaces, on-street locations, multi-unit residential buildings, workplaces, and vehicle fleets. Canadian private and public sector organizations, as well as Indigenous businesses, can receive up to $5 million per project. Eligible applicants include electric utilities, companies, industry associations, Indigenous groups, strata or condo corporations, and various levels of Canadian government (excluding Federal public administration and Crown corporations).
